Prop 8 is About Discrimination!

I don’t suspect the church realized that their Prop 8 would have uncovered all these other deep dark secrets that people didn’t even realize occurred, not to long ago.

Prop 8 is About Discrimination!
Using historical footage, the ad reminds voters of three particularly bleak periods in state history:

– Japanese American Internment: Authorized by President Roosevelt in 1942, the Army ordered all people of Japanese descent, whether citizens or non-citizens, living in CA to be interned in permanent “relocation centers.” Those centers remained operational until the end of the war. Former Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren, who was California Attorney General at that time, later wrote that the internment was “not in keeping with our American concepts of freedoms and rights of citizens.”

– California’s Ban on Interracial Marriage: In 1948, California became the first state in the nation to wipe away a state law banning interracial marriages. In the 1967 case of Loving vs. Virginia dealing with the remaining state bans, the United State Supreme Court ruled that: [T]he freedom to marry has long been recognized as one of the vital personal rights essential to the orderly pursuit of happiness by free men. Marriage is one of the ‘basic civil rights of man,’ fundamental to our very existence and survival.”

– Racially Restrictive Covenants: These covenants were widely enforced in the early 20th century to discriminate against African Americans, Jews and other ethnic groups by prohibiting the lease or sale of property. The covenants were widely used in the Central Valley against Armenians. They were declared unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1948.

In 2007, on the 40th anniversary of the Loving vs. Virginia decision, Mildred Loving wrote: “I am still not a political person, but I am proud that Richard’s and my name is on a court case that can help reinforce the love, the commitment, the fairness, and the family that so many people, black or white, young or old, gay or straight seek in life. I support the freedom to marry for all. That’s what Loving and loving, are all about.”

Equal Right’s Under Attack! This Reminds Me of Bin Laden.

Seems like the fanatics are out in full force, and I’m not talking about BinLaden or any of his associated religious practices.

I’m talking about here in the United States.

People supporting Justice, Equality and Human Rights are being threatened and attacked by these fanatics who want to destroy OUR Basic Democracy and include discrimination in California’s Constitution.

Equal Right’s Under Attack!
The NO on Prop 8 Web site was hit by a massive cyber invasion called a distributed denial of service attack (DoS) that took down the site for several hours last night, with the assault originating not just in-state, but from Texas, New Jersey and Georgia.

The NO on Prop 8 campaign’s Web site attack started late yesterday afternoon when the Web team was alerted by higher-than-normal traffic. The traffic escalated over the next several hours, slowing the system and by 10 pm, a small team of engineers concluded that that NO on 8 website was under a full cyber attack.

“I’m sure we’ll hear a lot of denials today from the Prop 8 campaign, but this is clearly an orchestrated attempt to tear down what has become one of the largest grassroots movements in California electoral history,” said Patrick Guerriero, NO on Prop 8 Campaign Director. “We have reported this to the FBI and other federal authorities and we have secured our site in ways we never thought would be necessary. But make no mistake – this was an attack against individual rights, not just a Web site.”

What Prop 8 really is: discrimination

I don’t know why they keep lying to Californian’s and American’s?

Our constitutions should never be altered for the sake of religion or bigotry. That’s what America is all about, and I think if they don’t like it they can leave!

No On 8, Feinstein
What Prop 8 really is: discrimination

Senator Dianne Feinstein talks directly to voters about what Prop 8 really is — discrimination.

The Senator is a trusted and respected voice that will resonate with voters. She joins the chorus of leaders across California who are calling on voters to reject this unfair initiative.

Help us get this effective ad in front of the many voters who are still undecided on Prop 8.

New Low From Evangelical Colson and his Alleged Family Research Council

The constant badgering from these people is mind boggling to me. My civil laws or California’s Civil Laws have nothing to do with the Evangelicals.

I am a Buddhist, and I resent these people trying to push their religion on me or the rest of us Californian’s. Our constitution should protect us from this kind of bigotry or any other kind of hate or religious persecution.

Changing our constitution would do California no good service, but give special treatment to people who constantly try to terrorize us. It would also be against the constitution to place such a proposition, so in hindsight it would be knocked down.

Don’t fall for these pulpit tactics! We should not regulate people like this, much less alter the constitution for Colson’s needs. Our Economy should be the focus, hate should take the back seat.

Evangelical leader Charles W. Colson and Family Research Council President Tony Perkins are calling the battle to eliminate the right to marry for same sex couples the “decisive last stand.”

No On 8, Don’t Eliminate Marriage For Anyone

It’s been very clear to me that religion will tell you lie upon lie in order to get what they want, especially your conversion and donations.

Believe me! I’ve experienced their conversions, and given them my donations, then I learned the LIES!

Wake up people!

No On 8, Don’t Eliminate Marriage For Anyone
Today, the NO on Prop 8 campaign released a tough new television ad featuring California State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O’Connell, who voiced his strong opposition to Prop 8 and the lies about the public education system.

“Prop 8 has nothing to do with schools or kids,” said Geoff Kors, NO on Prop 8 executive committee member. “The Prop 8 campaign continues to use scare tactics and lies to bolster their campaign. It’s despicable that children are being used for political gain.”

The television ad exposes the lies of the Prop 8 advertisements with O’Connell stating, “our schools aren’t required to teach anything about marriage.”

Just Say No: A God-fearing approach to California’s Proposition 8

反対票を投じる

Civil marriage is about that, civil marriage, it has nothing to do with your religion!

In fact, marriage is NOT even traditional to Christianity, it is traditional to Pagan law [civil law], and marriage contracts have been, ever since, for the purpose of proving property rights and heirs. Religion didn’t adopt the practice until around the 8th century, much like religion adopted the Solstice Celebration and call it Christmas or the adoption of the Fertility Celebration and call it Easter.

Religious marriage is between those people and their ‘god’, not the rest of us, and definitely not to those of us who practice other loving faiths.

It’s just another bigoted attempt to legislate hate and bigotry targeting a group of people in favor of Christianity. What next, more prison camps for those who refuse to comply?

同性婚に対する差別を撲滅する

Just Say No: A God-fearing approach to California’s Proposition 8
I no more believe that marriage should be only between a man and a woman than I believe the world is flat.
It’s definitely not, even if you live in hilly parts of San Francisco’s Sunset District.

But try telling that to the supporters of California’s Proposition 8, the last-gasp attempt to codify a discriminatory definition of marriage into the California Constitution.

The Prop 8 folks insist on their limited worldview and want to memorialize their bigotry by making it state law.

It’s the kind of proposition slaveholders would have circulated after the Emancipation Proclamation. Won’t you please reconsider slavery?

Prop 8 is what I call the “recourse for sore losers.” The California Supreme Court already ruled in May that any law that would narrowly define marriage as between a man and a woman was an unconstitutional violation of the Equal Protection Clause. That should have ended it. But the Prop 8 folks are trying an end run on both the Constitution and the Supreme Court with this last plea for exclusion.

Threats email donation form: Support NO on 8

Vote No on 8

The Bigots from Yes on 8 Campaign are threatening business if they do not donate to their campaign.

This seems to be the typical norm for these alleged “conservatives” who claim to be Christian or Mormon. ARE THEY REALLY KIND AND LOVING? It’s the same tactics I see on the Presidential campaign trail on the alleged “conservative” side. They are doing all they can to tell lies about Obama and his plans for America.

Attacks are childish behaviors! What we need are people that will tell us their plans, and tell us why they are better, without resorting to childish attacks.

Obama IS telling us what he plans and why he is good for America, yet McCain is full of attacks toward Obama. I haven’t any clue what McCain will do to fix Our Country or Our Economy.

Attacks are now coming from the “yes on 8″ campaign in the same manner. This is all these people have.

VOTE NO on 8 because we don’t need that kind of bigotry coming from outside or inside of California.

Threats email donation form: Support NO on 8
If lies don’t work, then maybe threats will.

That’s what the Yes on 8 campaign seems to think – they are now sending threatening letters to businesses and supporters of Equality California – warning that they will go after our donors if they don’t donate to their campaign and refrain from supporting Equality California in the future.

We will not be intimidated by their threats and we will stand with our supporters.

Make a donation today [and add your name to the EQCA website] to show the other side that we will not go back to the closet of inequality.

A recent letter to businesses that oppose Prop 8. threatens:

“You would leave us no other reasonable assumption. The names of any companies…that choose not to donate…to ProtectMarriage.com…will be published. …We will contact you shortly to discuss your contribution.”

It is signed by members of the Yes on 8 campaign executive committee:

:: Ron Prentice, campaign chairman
:: Edward Dolejsi, executive director, California Catholic Conference
:: Mark Jansson, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
:: Andrew Pugno, lawyer for ProtectMarriage.com.

Crazy people, notice there membership organizations.  I think this say’s a lot about these people.  Claims of love and respect are falsehoods that even their own bible warns us ALL about.

Scholar Exposes Lies of Prop 8

Why does the church lie to it’s people?

They’ve always done this to gain donation’s and converts! Plain and simple as that. They not only lie to it’s own people they lie to YOU AND ME! The same organizations and churches lied to people to get voter approval on Prop 22, which was proven to be unconstitutional and against California law. Where are they from? Utah?

Scholar Exposes Lies of Prop 8
Kate Kendell, an Executive Committee member of the NO on Prop. 8 campaign, issued the following statement:

“I have reviewed this memorandum. It exposes their shameful scheme to deceive the voters. The memo clearly states the Prop. 8 ads are based entirely on claims that are not true.

“Educators and other experts have been saying this for weeks. So have newspapers.

“Now we have it from one of their own – a prominent Mormon scholar who says claims in the Prop. 8 ads are ‘untrue’ and ‘misleading.’

“In his memo, this Mormon scholar concludes Prop 8. has nothing to do with education or teaching.

“What is particularly disturbing is that the Mormon Church has asked its members to fund a campaign based on these lies. As this Mormon scholar says: ‘Relying on deceptive arguments is not only contrary to gospel principles, but ultimately works against the very mission of the Church.’

Bush Aides Say Religious Hiring Doesn’t Bar Aid

Bush has started a trend of hate with the expense of taxpayers.

These religious organizations don’t pay taxes, they claim they have a religious right to it. Yet they will take OUR tax dollars and discriminate while they do that.

This is not what OUR tax dollars should be used for. These people claim to be conservative, yet hate your neighbors, and take their tax money, money that should go back in to the community as a whole.

These religious organizations can preach hate all they want, just as long as it does not affect those of US who do not belong to their organization of hate! They should keep that to themselves and their own followers, but their religious laws should not interfere with ME or any other who is not of their dogma, nor should my tax dollars support hate. Hate is anti-American. Don’t like that, go back to Europe or where ever it is your people came from. People came to America to be free of people like that.

Bush Aides Say Religious Hiring Doesn’t Bar Aid
In a newly disclosed legal memorandum, the Bush administration says it can bypass laws that forbid giving taxpayer money to religious groups that hire only staff members who share their faith.

The administration, which has sought to lower barriers between church and state through its religion-based initiative offices, made the claim in a 2007 Justice Department memorandum from the Office of Legal Counsel. It was quietly posted on the department’s Web site this week.

The statutes for some grant programs do not impose antidiscrimination conditions on their financing, and the administration had previously allowed such programs to give taxpayer money to groups that hire only people of a particular religion.
